Elio Garcia, born and raised in Milwaukee’s South Side, is a graduate from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts (2021). His work ranges from; poetry/prose, video work, painting/drawing, mixed media paintings, sculpture/installation, and experiments with upcycling garments. Just as much physically making art is important to his process, research and deep dives into the subject matter & areas of interest are. This leading Elio to focus on specific subject matter in his work at a given time ranging from: the combination of spirituality and science, history, and the effects of the prison industrial pipeline + the war on drugs.
